Je kunt veel van de Russen zeggen, maar lachebekjes zijn het niet. Je leest geen Tolstoj, Toergenjev of Tsjechov om eens lekker te gniffelen, Russische films hebben een lage schuddebuik-coëfficient, Russische heersers toveren geen glimlach op het gezicht en de droevigste clown aller tijden is Popov.
Des te verbazingwekkender is het dat Zarathustra (aka the fat cat) een Russische creatie is. Dit is ... een LOLcat! Uit Rusland! Ongelofelijk! We laten hem zelf aan het woord:

Curators are not interested in Internet memes yet, but We know that happens to all new trends in art, art institutions are usually very slow to react. Zo zie je maar weer: pas op met nationale vooroordelen. Weliswaar lopen Hollanders op klompen, zingen Portugezen de godganse dag fado's, hebben Fransen een stokbrood onder de arm geklemd, hossen Brazilianen permanent rond in carnavalskledij en zijn alle Kretenzers leugenaars, maar Russen hebben dus wel degelijk gevoel voor humor.
